Armand “Bim” Bacaltos was a prominent Filipino visual artist and a deeply beloved professor at the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Fine Arts. Until his passing in February 2026 at the age of 76, he dedicated much of his life to mentoring young creatives. As a core faculty member teaching Techniques and Figure Drawing, he served as a pivotal guiding force in the local academic and visual arts communities.
Beyond the classroom, Bacaltos had a distinguished exhibition history and was frequently tapped for major national art projects.
