Born in 2002, Angelee “Jelly” Jimenez is a self-taught visual artist and cultural organizer whose rapid creative evolution highlights a fiercely independent spirit. Operating outside the conventional institutional gallery path, she has cultivated an authentic visual language rooted in alternative community structures and regional decentralization.
Jimenez views her role as an artist as fundamentally relational. Her practice balances intensive independent studio work with grassroots cultural activism, focusing her efforts on building accessible, collaborative spaces for artistic expression outside of the metropolitan capital of Manila.
Residencies & Formative Incubations:
Linangan Art Residency: Completed a defining residency program at Linangan, a prominent alternative art space and alternative academy in the Philippines celebrated for nurturing socially engaged creators and fostering sustainable, community-rooted artistic practices.
