Based in Manila, Christina Dy is a highly regarded cross-disciplinary force within the Philippine contemporary art and performance landscapes. Before finding her definitive calling in the movement arts, she built a foundational career in the commercial and indie film circuits working as a professional production designer—an experience that heavily informs her keen understanding of space, scale, and environmental scenography.
An entrepreneurial pioneer in the local dance community, Dy is the founder of Polecats Manila, the country’s premier aerial and pole dance studio. Beyond running the institution, she actively bridges subcultures by performing as part of the noise-pop band Somatosonic.
The Collaborative Axis: Dy frequently teams up with multi-media creatives to produce complex bodily interrogations. Most notably, she co-staged the critically acclaimed dual-artist exhibition Cause/Cure (2024), a project that deeply investigated human physical movement, bodily wear-and-tear, and the psychological weight of chronic pain.
Born in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Corinne de San Jose is a highly decorated visual artist and a legendary figure in contemporary Philippine cinema. She has successfully straddled two demanding industries, anchoring her fine-art studio practice in rigorous conceptual media while concurrently serving as one of the most sought-after film sound designers in Southeast Asia.
De San Jose is officially represented by Silverlens Galleries (Manila/New York), through which she regularly exhibits her multi-sensory installations.
