Born in Naga City, Philippines, on August 28, 1948, Gus Albor is a distinguished painter and sculptor. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Painting, from the University of the East (UE) in 1972. In 1978, he expanded his artistic training internationally through a study grant awarded by the British Council at the West Surrey College of Art in England.
Albor's work is celebrated both locally and abroad. He has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in major galleries and museums worldwide, including in the United States, Germany, France, Japan, India, and Hong Kong. In 1982, his work was officially included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Philippine Art.
