Biography

Born in Luzon, raised in Mindanao, and educated in the Visayas, Khriss Bajade’s diverse regional upbringing heavily informs his unique sculptural language. He is currently based in Cebu, Philippines, where he balances his time between his personal studio practice and molding the next generation of Filipino artists.

Academic & Professional Background:

Education: Earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Painting from the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu.

Teaching: Serves as a full-time faculty member at the UP Cebu College of Communication, Art, and Design (CCAD), teaching core courses in the Fine Arts Studio Arts Program.

Major Accolades: Won First Place at the prestigious Joya Awards in 2007.

Notable Exhibitions:

2026: Katag – Qube Gallery (Cebu City), a landmark multi-artist exhibition alongside Bastinuod, Mark Copino, and John Villoria.

2024: Three Years on a Stone – MONO8 Gallery (San Juan City), showcasing his intricate metal origami and assemblage works.

2021: Highlights – Qube Gallery (Cebu City), a solo presentation centering on his metal connection pieces.

2019: Phases – Qube Gallery (Cebu City), a group showcase tracking his sculptural evolution.
