Born in Manila in 1949, Imelda Cajipe Endaya is an acclaimed visual artist, activist, author, curator, and non-formal educator. Beyond her personal studio practice, she has been a monumental figure in cultural organizing. She co-founded KASIBULAN, the historic collective of women artists in the Philippines, and was a driving force behind Pananaw: Philippine Journal of Visual Arts, a cornerstone of contemporary local art discourse.
Endaya has served in leadership capacities across national institutions, including the Philippine Association of Printmakers and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). Her works are widely sought after and housed in permanent museum collections across Southeast Asia and East Asia.
