Born in 1962 in the Cagayan Valley, Alfredo Juan Aquilizan is a globally recognized contemporary artist and educator currently based in Brisbane, Australia. His extensive academic background and commitment to arts education have deeply informed his artistic practice, leading to an international career marked by major commissions and global exhibitions.

Doctorate: Currently pursuing his Ph.D. at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia.
Master of Arts: Polytechnic University in Norwich, England.
Bachelor of Fine Arts: Philippine Women’s University (1986).

Working in close collaboration with his wife, Isabel, Alfredo’s installation projects have been commissioned by Tate Liverpool and featured in major international biennales and triennials, including those in Venice, Sydney, Singapore, Japan, Moscow, and Honolulu.
